Ruawaro Combined School is a small rural primary school (Years 1-8) just a 10 minute drive west of Huntly. We are firmly focused on retaining our rural culture, traditions and values while embracing modern innovative learning.
We pride ourselves on having a nurturing and caring environment. We have high expectations for all our students, and we work with them to ensure they exceed their potential and experience success. Our experienced team provide the best learning opportunities for every child. We aim to provide programmes that are fun and challenging, where foundation skills are nurtured, and teaching is high quality.
We believe that your child’s education is a partnership between whānau, school and the child. Good communication between all three of these stakeholders is essential for success. We encourage you to become fully involved in all aspects of school life as well as supporting and encouraging your child with their learning.

Kia ora everyone
I am writing to let you know, that yesterday I informed the BOT that I have made the hard decision to resign from my position as Principal of Ruawaro at the end of this term.
This has not been an easy decision, but feel it is the best one for me at this time.
Until I leave, I remain committed to working with the staff on our focus on increased achievement and progress of all our students.
The BOT has appointed Karyn McInally as Acting Principal until a new Principal is appointed in the New Year.
